Tightening 🇫🇯 Fiji

Fiji imposes mandatory prison terms on a plant-and-gram scale

The Dangerous Drugs Act (Amendment) Decree of 1990 rewrote the growing offence: growing Indian hemp, even for private use, as well as possessing or trafficking it, drew mandatory custodial sentences on a plant-and-gram scale.[1] Growing more than 50 plants carried up to 14 years with a 2-year minimum; possessing more than 500 grams up to 20 years with a 5-year minimum; trafficking more than 100 grams up to 14 years with a 5-year minimum.[1] Smaller amounts kept lower maxima but still minimum terms of months.[1]
