Ethiopia's new Criminal Code takes effect
The 2004 Criminal Code replaced the Penal Code of 1957. Its Article 525 covers producing, trafficking in and using narcotic substances and applies to cannabis, including in Shashamane, the town Haile Selassie granted to Rastafari settlers.
