Law 168 regulated the import, manufacture and sale of narcotic drugs. It is the earliest Dominican drug law recorded here. Thirteen years later the preamble of Law 50-88 called it ineffective and said it did not clearly classify drug offences or their penalties, and the new law repealed and replaced it. What Law 168 said about cannabis itself was not found.[1]
