Tightening 🇩🇰 Denmark

Denmark raises possession fines and clarifies social grounds for warnings

Law 526 strengthened the fine policy for unlawful drug possession and required sentencing to consider the substances' harmful effects. It qualified the normal restriction on warnings where social circumstances favoured a warning and possession resulted from strong dependence after prolonged, persistent drug misuse. The Danish Health Authority reported both the tougher fine policy and wider warning exception. The law took effect on 1 July 2007, following signature on 6 June.[1][2]
