Easing 🇧🇹 Bhutan

Bhutan softens its drug law for small amounts of cannabis

The National Assembly adopted an amendment to the 2015 narcotics act by 40 votes. A person holding up to twice the scheduled quantity of cannabis, who tests positive and has no trafficking record, is treated as a case of substance abuse and sent for treatment, not charged with trafficking. Minors get counselling first and compulsory treatment on later offences.[1]
