Debate 🇧🇹 Bhutan

Bhutan's government says it is exploring medicinal cannabis

Answering a question in the National Assembly, Foreign Minister Tandi Dorji said the government was exploring ways to legalise marijuana for medicinal use but needed more time before tabling an amendment to the narcotics act, because it depended on outside experts. One member asked for the whole act to be amended, saying many men in some villages were in prison. Under the 2018 amendment, possessing up to seven grams of cannabis is illegal possession and anything above it is illicit trafficking; cultivation is allowed only for medical and scientific research.[1][2]
