Bermuda's police established a specialist narcotics squad to enforce the existing drug law. The later Wooding Commission reported no more than twenty-two drug arrests during its first five years, 1961–1965, while police intelligence suggested a larger marijuana trade. The legislature subsequently gave officers wider search powers.[1]
