Tightening 🇧🇭 Bahrain

Bahrain sets a six-month prison minimum for personal drug possession

Bahrain replaced the fine-or-prison rule for personal drug possession with at least six months in prison and a fine up to 10,000 dinars.[1][2] The same amendment made supply punishable by life imprisonment or a term of at least five years, plus a fine; hospital treatment could count toward an addicted person’s sentence.[1] It took effect on publication in November 1983, before the introduction of capital drug penalties the following July.[3][4]
