The drug-possession offence introduced by Abkhazia’s August 2012 amendment prescribed one to three years in prison for acquiring, holding or transporting drugs without intent to supply.[1] Larger quantities carried higher prison terms and fines; exemption required voluntary surrender and active help against drug offences.[1] The Supreme Court later confirmed that the ordinary offence applied regardless of quantity below the larger tiers.[2]
