In November 2024 police destroyed cannabis gardens in Mbale, Wakiso and Iganga and arrested growers and sellers, including a 52-year-old garden owner in Mbale.[@upf24] An Iganga crackdown netted 31 suspects for possession, use and sale.[@urn24] In Kabale police say they arrest about one person a day for consumption and burned marijuana worth UGX 1.2 billion.[@urnkab]
