Cannabis in Kyrgyzstan is known asRussian speakers call cannabis [anasha](/culture/language/anasha/),; in Kyrgyz the Central Asian word for the plant is кара куурай and its resinthe smoked preparation нашаа. The Chuy valley'’s wild hemp is the classic source, and eradication campaigns there have targeted it for decades.[@unodc,elsozduk] The atlas entry traces the word across the Soviet south.[@unodc]

+Kyrgyzstan validation: `profile-audit kg` zero errors and warnings. The profile now distinguishes Russian `anasha`, Kyrgyz `кара куурай` and `нашаа`, adds the law’s Russian terms for marijuana and hashish, and corrects the wild-plant fine from “landholders” to anyone obliged to clear the plants. Six terms added.
