An American newspaper asks whether Mexico is "locoed" by a weed

Under a full-width headline, "Is the Mexican nation 'locoed' by a peculiar weed?", an American paper blamed the violence of the Mexican Revolution on marijuana.[1][2] It was one of many stories of the time that tied the drug to Mexican bandits and migrants.[1] The Library of Congress now presents this coverage as tied to anti-Mexican propaganda and warns that many such articles contain slurs.
