Federal Decree-Law 2/2025 established the National Drug Enforcement Authority, replacing the interior ministry's anti-narcotics department and taking over policy, enforcement, precursor and treatment functions. The law was issued on 29 July 2025 and took effect on 1 January 2026.[1]
