Trinidad and Tobago enacts a cannabis licensing law that awaits proclamation

Parliament assented to the Cannabis Control Act on 17 June 2022, and the Gazette published it on 23 June. The Act comes into operation only on a date the President fixes by proclamation. Parliament's record of the 2020 bill, which became Act No. 10 of 2022, still says that proclamation is awaited. The Act would create a Cannabis Licensing Authority and licences for cultivation, processing and dispensaries. Those licences are not operating. Adults may still possess up to 30 g and grow four plants under the 2019 amendment.[1][2][3]
