A United Nations survey describes cannabis in Swaziland

The survey, compiled with the Swaziland government, reported 11,051 kg of cannabis seized in 1948 and 2,970 kg in 1952, and 1,065 people prosecuted in the five years to 1949. The crop was grown in the western highlands and on the Lubombo range, mainly for export to South Africa; the red dagga of the mist belt was in demand for its quality. Smokers had recently been fined ten shillings to £20, and traffickers given up to 24 months with hard labour.[1]
