Sudan extended its contraband law to making or manufacturing listed goods inside the country, including cannabis. Unauthorised manufacture came within the same forfeiture and penalty rules as unlawful importation: up to seven years in prison, a fine of up to 500 Egyptian pounds, or both. Medical practitioners, licensed poison sellers and people specially permitted by the governor-general remained within the law's exceptions.[1]
