Morocco sells kif through a state monopoly

Index score

10057

−43 points

Before Sultan Hassan I banned kif in 1888, its sale was already a state monopoly and one of the treasury's main sources of income, alongside tobacco. When the monopoly began is not recorded here, so it is assumed to fall between 1800 and 1888.[1]
