MP O. Amgalanbaatar announced a draft of an updated Law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances under which drug users would be charged under criminal law, not only the law on misdemeanours, with five years in prison for a first offence and eight for a repeat one. He sent it to the government for comment, planning to submit it to parliament afterwards.[1]
