Malta's prime minister announces a cannabis law

Robert Abela announced plans to legalise possession of small amounts of cannabis and plants for personal use. A public consultation from March drew 350 submissions. The opposition Nationalist Party, which had claimed the idea of regulated clubs, voted against the bill, and it passed on 14 December by 36 votes to 27.[1][2][3]
