A week after protesters marched for his release, the Court of Criminal Appeal confirmed Daniel Holmes's prison term of about ten years. The judges found the punishment within the law, since the maximum was life imprisonment, and saw the 32 plants and equipment found in Gozo as a production line rather than personal use. He was released in September 2018 after about eight years in custody.[1][2]
