Gisela Feuz, a 16-year-old Swiss student, was convicted of importing hashish with intent to traffic after admitting she carried a small amount, by her account to share with her boyfriend, and received a mandatory six months in prison. Accounts give the amount as under 8 g or under 1 g. The case was long cited in Malta as an example of the harshness of its drug laws.[1][2]
