Tightening 🇲🇾 Malaysia

Malaysia doubles the fine for possession and raises the minimum caning

The Dangerous Drugs (Amendment) Act 1986, Act A659, raised the maximum fine for possessing cannabis under Section 6 from ten thousand to twenty thousand ringgit, alongside up to five years in prison, and raised the minimum whipping for the heaviest possession tier, 50 grams of cannabis or more, from six strokes to ten. An amendment of 2017 later lowered the minimum whipping for trafficking, where death is not imposed, from fifteen strokes to twelve.[1]
