- Tobacco and Smoking Act, S.Nu. 2021, c. 20, official consolidation in force 31 May 2023, except section 28. Section 2 defines smoke as a lit or heated device that burns or heats tobacco, cannabis or another substance intended to be smoked or inhaled. Section 24(2) says a person shall not smoke in a private dwelling leased from a publicly funded housing provider. That provider includes the Nunavut Housing Corporation, an entity that rents staff housing to public servants, housing authorities, and housing associations operating a project for the corporation. Subsections 24(3) to (5) put the ban into tenancy agreements, including after written notice for an existing tenancy, and apply it to subleases. Section 20 also prohibits smoking in public places and in a vehicle when a minor is present. Section 44 and the Schedule put section 24(2) at a maximum fine of $2,000 for an individual with no earlier conviction, and a previous conviction can add imprisonment of not more than six months. https://www.nunavutlegislation.ca/in/file-download/download/public/7567
- Government of Nunavut, 30 May 2025. The Act came into effect on 31 May 2023. The release says smoking, vaping and cannabis use are prohibited inside Government of Nunavut staff housing and public housing units, including balconies, hallways and shared spaces, and in a vehicle when a child under 19 is present. https://www.gov.nu.ca/en/newsroom/health-department-launches-campaign-new-second-hand-smoke-laws-2025-05-30
- Nunavut Quits, Tobacco and the law. The programme repeats the 31 May 2023 date and describes cannabis use, not only smoking, as illegal in staff and public housing, including balconies and shared areas. https://nuquits.gov.nu.ca/tobacco-and-law
- Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, cannabis frequently asked questions, "Where can I consume cannabis?". Consumption is allowed in a private dwelling or a yard attached to it. A hotel room, apartment unit or rented campsite may allow it, subject to the owner or operator. Common areas, public places, motor vehicles and boats are not allowed, with a limited exception for a vehicle used as a dwelling while it is not in motion or on a road. https://www.gov.nl.ca/cannabis/frequently-asked-questions/
- Government of Yukon, Learn about cannabis. Cannabis must be consumed at a private residence and adjoining property, or at another location if regulations permit. Smoking or vaping is barred in a daycare, a group-living facility, and in the presence of a health or social-service provider. Licensed retailers may sell in store, online and by delivery. https://yukon.ca/en/cannabis
- Government of Yukon, rules at campgrounds. Consumption of cannabis is permitted only within registered campsites. It is not allowed elsewhere in a park, including day-use areas, playgrounds and cook shelters. https://yukon.ca/en/node/2030
- Queensland Police Service, Police drug diversion program. From 3 May 2024 an eligible person must be offered diversion. Eligibility requires a minor drugs offence, no related indictable offence, no previous prison sentence for supply, trafficking or production, and a reasonable belief of personal use. There are three lifetime opportunities: a warning, then two assessment appointments. An offer is spent even if declined. A cannabis diversion from before 3 May 2024 counts as the first assessment. Diversion does not decriminalise or legalise possession. https://www.police.qld.gov.au/drugs-and-alcohol/police-drug-diversion-program
- Police Powers and Responsibilities Regulation 2026, commenced 31 March 2026. Section 10 points the prescribed quantity to Schedule 1. Cannabis is 50.0 g. https://www.legislation.qld.gov.au/view/whole/html/inforce/current/sl-2026-0031

- The 20 October 2025 Nunavut second-hand-smoke release. The 30 May 2025 release and the Act were read.
- The Yukon "10 things to know" PDF. The cannabis page already states the private residence and adjoining property.
- The Drugs Misuse Act 1986 maximum for a cannabis possession charge after the three diversion offers are spent. The profile says a later offence can be prosecuted and does not repeat the old "very high" maximum.
- An as-made 2026 Queensland Act extract that appeared to replace the diversion division. The in-force regulation and the police page still describe the three-opportunity program, so that extract was not used.

Consumption stays at 3 in Nunavut, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Yukon. Public consumption remains prohibited. A yard, a rented campsite or a registered park campsite is a stated exception, not a general public right. Enforcement stays at 6 in Nunavut because the gram limits are unchanged and the housing rule is a place limit. Possession stays at 2 in Queensland, and enforcement at 4, because an eligible small amount is diverted and the post-diversion maximum was not re-read. The new Nunavut entry is dated 31 May 2023 and is unscored. The Queensland entry is dated 3 May 2024 and has no score change.
