An American scientific review finds medical promise in cannabinoids

The White House drug policy office had asked the Institute of Medicine to review the evidence. Its report found that cannabinoids appear to help with pain, nausea from chemotherapy and wasting, with modest effects, and advised against smoking as a long-term medicine while allowing it under supervision for patients with no alternative. It found no conclusive evidence that cannabis itself causes people to move on to other drugs.[1]
